Our Mission
The Ontario Alliance of Climbers is an independent provincial, volunteer non-profit organization that works diligently to keep climbing and bouldering areas open.
Ontario climbing areas are established on public and private land through careful negotiation and relationship building with land owners, land managers, and government bodies. The OAC provides critical expertise and representation for the climbing community in these negotiations.
We help conserve access to climbing by advocating protection for the climbing environment, by resolving access issues as they arise, and by proactively engaging with and educating the climbing community. Our team is committed to and passionate about working with the community, landowners, conservation authorities, and other property managers to educate, mediate and negotiate on behalf of climbers, in order to bring all parties together in a manner that is mutually respectful of one another’s needs.
In 2018, the Ontario Access Coalition was renamed the Ontario Alliance of Climbers to better reflect its mission and members.
